Eating gluten free — Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2024

Your go-to list of all the gluten free foods on offer at the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival.

This weekend (24 & 25 August) is your last chance to attend the cherry blossom festival in Auburn. There’s a range of food trucks available so I thought I’d make a list of all the gluten free foods on offer. I’ve broken it down by the ones that are coeliac safe and the ones that have gluten free options available.

As always, be sure to make your allergens known for your own safety.

Coeliac safe food options

The below food trucks are either Coeliac Australia accredited or have 100% gluten free menus.

Iron Ramen

Iron Ramen are serving up five of their iconic dishes;

  • Signature ramen

  • Karaage chicken ramen

  • Karaage chicken don

  • Karaage chicken curry

  • Mini curry

I visited one of their pop-ups a few weeks ago and the karaage chicken is a must have!

Open 9am-4:45pm until the festival ends.

Coeliac Australia accredited.

15cenchi

15cenchi are bringing five of their delicious cheesecakes to the party. Every flavour is its own kind of fun, you really can’t go wrong. Here’s the menu:

  • Original basque cheesecake

  • Matcha basque cheesecake

  • Yuzu basque cheesecake

  • Truffle basque cheesecake

  • Original cheese purin (the original flavour is a burnt caramel sauce)

I am not lying when I tell you that the original cheese purin has some kind of hold on me and if you love yourself at all, you need to try it.

Open 9am-4:45pm until the festival ends.

100% gluten free menu.

Little Tokyo Japanese Eats

Little Tokyo are serving their full menu as well as a teriyaki chicken bowl special. Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:

  • Fried chicken rice bowl

  • Loaded fries with fried chicken

  • Fried chicken salad

  • Street tacos

  • Plain fries

  • Chicken bites with mayo and Jap style BBQ sauce

  • Edamame cups

  • Fried cauliflower

I’m hungry just thinking about it.

Open 9am-4:45pm until the festival ends.

Coeliac Australia accredited.

Food trucks with gluten free options

The below food trucks have told me about their gluten free options. If you’re coeliac then, as always, be sure to communicate your allergen and assess your own safety.

Satay Brothers can do their wagyu skewers gluten free, just be sure to ask for this when you order. With a marble score of 5+, I have no doubt it’ll be a treat that just melts in your mouth.

Open 9am-4pm until the festival ends.
